Candy AI Review (2026): Real Prices, Token Costs and a Memory Test

Candy AI is one of the biggest names in AI girlfriends, and it gets expensive once you go past text. We paid for Premium and spent a day with it: chatting, testing its memory, and checking what every feature costs in tokens.

Full disclosure: we make Lovi Dream, which competes with Candy AI. We bought our own Candy Premium account (the 1-month plan, $13.99) and tested it on October 24, 2026. All prices below were checked that day.

Our Verdict: 3.5 out of 5

Candy AI is one of the most complete AI girlfriend apps we've used, with a big library of video content. The catch is tokens. Almost everything beyond text costs extra, and tokens cost about 10 cents each.

Best for: people who want lots of ready-made content, like video stories, video packs and Live Action, and don't mind buying tokens.

Not for: anyone who wants a real free trial (you get 5 messages) or might want a refund later.

What we liked

• There's a lot to do: 31 Shorts series, 30 video packs and hundreds of characters.

• Text is unlimited on Premium, with six chat models to choose from.

• Our test character remembered details from earlier in the chat.

• The character builder is detailed, with 342 preset looks.

• Billing is discreet: the charge shows as "EverAI".

What we didn't like

• Tokens are pricey: 100 cost $9.99, and one video pack costs 145 to 330.

• The 100 monthly tokens cover about three Shorts episodes.

• Bigger memory and the most Elite chat replies need Premium Plus at $59.99 a month.

• The free account is 5 messages and one image.

• Refunds only within 24 hours, and only if you've used 20 tokens or fewer.

What Is Candy AI?

Candy AI is an adult AI companion app run by EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta. You chat with ready-made characters (realistic, anime and male) or build your own, and they send photos, voice notes and short videos. Around the chat, Candy has added video stories, paid video packs, an outfit shop and a social feed.

How Much Does Candy AI Cost?

Candy AI Premium costs $13.99 a month, $8.99 a month on the 3-month plan, or $3.99 a month on the yearly plan. Your first month on the monthly plan is $9.99.

Premium gets you unlimited text messages, your own custom characters, 18+ photos and videos, full Live Action and 100 tokens a month. On the plans page you can raise that to 200 tokens for $6 more a month, or 300 for $12 more.

Premium Plus adds 230 more tokens, ten times the daily limit on Candy's Elite chat models, bigger memory, user personas, early access to new characters, and 10% extra on every token purchase (3-month and yearly plans only). All plans renew automatically at the same price.

What Do Candy AI Tokens Cost?

Candy AI tokens cost about 10 cents each: 100 tokens are $9.99, and bigger packs add a bonus, up to 6,500 tokens for $499.99. Here is what each thing cost in tokens when we tested.

What 100 monthly tokens buy: about 50 chat photos, or three Shorts episodes, or five 10-second videos. They don't cover a single private video pack.

One setting is worth checking early. By default, characters can send photos, voice notes and videos on their own, and each one costs tokens. You can switch each type off in the chat settings, under "What can she send you?"

Is Candy AI Free?

Candy AI has a free account, but it's a teaser: 5 messages in total across all characters, one custom character and one image. You can browse characters and watch the first two episodes of each Shorts series without signing up. Everything else needs Premium.

Chat Quality

We chatted with Kelsey Archer, one of Candy's story characters. Her setup: you spent one night with her in Lisbon two summers ago, and now she has moved in across the hall with her boyfriend.

She stayed on that story the whole time. Replies came as two or three short texts, like real messages, and she kept the secret-neighbors tension going. The writing is fine but plain; don't expect long, rich replies on the default model.

A few things stood out:

• Relationship levels. After a few messages the chat levelled up from "The Lisbon stranger" to "Neighbors with a secret". Some photo requests stay locked until you reach a level.

• She sends things on her own. When we asked what she was wearing, she described it and sent a selfie that matched her profile photos. That cost 2 tokens.

• You can pick the model. Classic is the default. Thoughtful is for slower, narrated stories, and Balanced escalates faster. Eclipse and Comet are Candy's Elite models with a daily limit, and Powerful is only on Premium Plus.

• Lots of settings. Reply length, a custom style prompt, language, texting style, narration in asterisks and your time zone.

Does Candy AI Remember You?

In our test, yes. In the first message we told Kelsey our name, our job (vet) and our dog's name (Biscuit). Four messages later we asked her for the dog's name and the job. She answered "biscuit the vet. please. i was paying attention", which got both facts, if a little jumbled.

Candy has two memory tools. Custom Memory lets you write notes the character keeps in mind. Auto Memory starts after 20 messages and saves important details on its own. On regular Premium the memory size is "Small"; the 2x and 6x sizes need Premium Plus and an Elite model. We didn't test how much survives over several days.

Photos and Video

The selfie Kelsey sent looked like a real phone photo and matched her profile pictures closely. The image generator gives you quick suggestions for outfit, pose, action, accessories and scene, and makes 1 to 64 images at a time at 4 tokens each.

Any suitable image can become a 5, 10 or 15 second video. Candy still labels this beta, and the 15-second version costs 30 tokens, so a few experiments use up a month's tokens fast.

Shorts

Candy Shorts are video series with episodes of about 80 seconds. We counted 31 series, most of them step-family, cheating or forbidden-romance stories. One series we opened had 10 episodes: the first two were free and the other eight cost 30 tokens each, so finishing it costs 240 tokens.

Private Video Packs

Private packs are sets from a single character, usually one video of 4 to 7 minutes plus 20 to 40 photos. Candy listed 30 of them, priced from 145 to 330 tokens, some at 50% off with a countdown. At about 10 cents a token, that's roughly $15 to $33 a pack.

Live Action

Characters like Antonella have a Live Action screen: a video of her with a list of actions you can request. Level 1 starts with "I lock eyes with you", and new actions unlock at each of 12 levels, getting more explicit as you go. You earn XP by chatting (spam doesn't count), or you can skip a level for 10 tokens. It's a clever way to reward long chats.

• Candy Studio lets you direct your own short clips with an AI video model, at 40 tokens for 5 seconds.

• Candy Shop sells outfits for characters, from 79 to 249 tokens.

• Candy.ai Social is an Instagram-style feed where you follow AI girls and see their posts and stories.

• Gifts in chat go from a 5-token rose to a 999-token yacht, and bigger gifts come with free videos.

Creating Your Own Character

The builder is one of Candy's strengths. You choose realistic or anime, then either Quick Create or the full Character Studio. Studio covers ethnicity, age, body type, bust, butt, height, hairstyle, clothing, facial details, skin, eye and hair color and background, then personality. There are 342 preset looks to start from, and the first six base images are free.

Billing, Cancelling and Refunds

Candy's billing is discreet, but its refund rules are strict. The charge shows on your statement as "EverAI". The plans page takes Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay, and the home page also mentions crypto. Plans renew automatically, and you can cancel any time in your settings; Premium stays on until the period you paid for ends.

Cancelling does not get you a refund. Per Candy's help centre, you only qualify if all of these are true:

• You email support within 24 hours of paying.

• You've used 20 tokens or fewer.

• You paid by debit or credit card.

So if you want to try Candy, start with the $9.99 first month rather than the yearly plan, and set a reminder before it renews at $13.99.

Is Candy AI Safe?

Candy AI is a real, registered company (EverAI Limited, Malta), and its FAQ says connections are encrypted with TLS 1.2 or newer. Your chats and the images you generate are stored on its servers, as with every app like this. Use a separate email and keep real names, addresses and photos of real people out of your chats.
