Is Candy AI Safe? We Paid and Read Its Privacy Rules
Is Candy AI safe? Yes, for an adult who treats it like any other website that stores what you type. Candy AI is a legitimate app run by a registered company in Malta, it bills through normal card processors, and we found no record of a data breach. The risk is privacy: Candy's own privacy policy says your chats can be read by staff and moderators, sent to outside AI providers and used to train its models.
We make Lovi Dream, which competes with Candy AI, so read this with that in mind. We paid for Candy Premium ($13.99 for one month) and tested it on October 24, 2026. The privacy and refund details below come from Candy's privacy policy (updated October 19, 2026) and terms of service (updated September 22, 2026), which we read on October 28, 2026.
Is Candy AI legit?
Yes. Candy AI is run by EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta under number C107181, at 56 Central Business Centre, Santa Venera. The terms are governed by Maltese law, so Candy falls under the EU's GDPR privacy rules.
When we paid, the charge went through and showed on the card statement as "EverAI". The account got exactly what the plans page promised: unlimited text chat, 100 tokens and access to Premium features. Nothing about the payment or the account looked like a scam.
The complaints you'll find about Candy are mostly about money: the strict refund rule and how fast tokens run out. Both are real, and we cover them below. Neither means Candy takes your money without delivering the service.
Who can read your Candy AI chats?
Your Candy AI chats are private from other users, but not from the company. According to the privacy policy:
- Staff can see your chats when their work needs it, and quality assurance staff may check chats at random.
- Human moderators review chats that get flagged.
- Outside moderation tools and outside AI providers "may receive the content of your messages exchanged with our chatbot".
- Your data may be moved outside the EU, including to the United States.
Chats are not end-to-end encrypted. The policy promises "appropriate security measures" without naming any, and Candy's FAQ says connections use TLS 1.2 or newer, which protects your messages on the way to Candy's servers but not once they're stored there.
Does Candy AI use your chats to train its AI?
Yes. The privacy policy says chats may be used to "train and develop our AI models and moderation technologies". Candy says it removes personal details first where it can, and human reviewers may look at those cleaned-up chats when building training data. The policy doesn't offer a simple switch to opt out of training. You can object by email under GDPR, at support@candymail.ai or DPO@everai.ai.
The terms go further. You keep ownership of what you type, but you give Candy a "perpetual" worldwide license to use it, including to train its models and for marketing.
How long Candy AI keeps your data
The privacy policy sets these retention periods:
- Account data, including chats: about three years after your last activity, or until you ask for deletion.
- Payment and transaction records: ten years.
- Marketing data: until you withdraw consent, or up to two years after you last used the site.
- Server log files: deleted after 30 days.
The policy doesn't describe a delete button for your data. To have everything removed, email support@candymail.ai and ask for deletion of your account and personal data under GDPR.
Is it safe to pay Candy AI?
Paying Candy AI is as safe as paying any adult subscription site. Payments go through outside processors (the privacy policy names Emerchantpay, TrustPay, Volt, Coingate and UpGate), and in our test the plans page took Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay. The charge reads "EverAI", which says nothing about adult content on your statement.
Refunds are where people get caught. Candy's terms only allow a refund if you ask within 24 hours of paying and have used 20 tokens or fewer. Token packs can't be refunded once you've used any of them. Users in the EU and UK get a 14-day right to cancel a first purchase, but not a renewal.
Every plan renews on its own. The $9.99 first month renews at $13.99, and the $3.99-a-month yearly plan is charged as $47.88 on day one. Our Candy AI pricing guide lists every plan and what tokens buy.
Has Candy AI been hacked?
Not that we could find. Candy AI isn't listed on Have I Been Pwned, the public database of data breaches, and we found no news reports of a Candy leak as of October 28, 2026.
Smaller apps in the same space have leaked. In April 2026, My Lovely AI exposed about 106,000 email addresses along with users' prompts and links to their generated images. In March 2026, Cuties AI exposed 144,000 email addresses with prompts and generated content. No breach so far doesn't mean no breach ever, so assume anything you type into any AI girlfriend app could one day become public.
Fake Candy AI apps and mod APKs
The real Candy AI is at candy.ai. Searches for "Candy AI mod APK" and free-premium hacks are common, and those files don't come from EverAI. A modded app can steal your login, your card or other data on your phone, and it won't give you Premium anyway, because tokens and Premium are checked on Candy's servers. Only sign in at candy.ai or through the official links on that site.
How to use Candy AI more safely
- Sign up with a separate email you don't use for banking or work.
- Keep your real name, address, workplace and photos of real people out of your chats.
- Turn off the photos, voice notes and videos characters send on their own (chat settings, "What can she send you?"), because each one costs tokens.
- Start with the monthly plan and set a reminder a day before it renews.
- Ask for any refund by email within 24 hours, before you use more than 20 tokens.
- When you stop using Candy, email support@candymail.ai and ask for your data to be deleted.
Is Candy AI worth it?
Candy AI is worth it if you'll use what the plan covers: unlimited text chat, Live Action and the free first episodes of its 31 Shorts series. Our test character stayed in her story and remembered our name, job and dog's name a few messages later. We rated Candy 3.5 out of 5 in our full Candy AI review.
It's less worth it if you want a lot of photos and videos. 100 tokens cost $9.99, and the 100 tokens that come with Premium buy about three Shorts episodes. One private video pack costs 145 to 330 tokens, so a single pack can cost more than the month's plan.
Where Lovi Dream fits
Lovi Dream is our app, so we're biased here. If you like Candy's style but the token prices put you off, Lovi Dream's tokens go further:
- $9.99 buys 300 tokens, against 100 on Candy AI.
- Private packs cost 20 to 60 tokens, against 145 to 330 on Candy.
- The first episodes of every Lovi Dream Shorts series play free without an account.
- There's a Lifetime plan you pay for once, which Candy doesn't offer.
Candy has a bigger library and longer pack videos, and we say so in our Candy AI alternative guide. The same privacy advice applies to Lovi Dream and every other app: keep real names and photos of real people out of your chats.
