A short drama is a series of vertical episodes, usually a minute or two each, made to watch on a phone. The spicy ones are romance stories with forbidden attraction at the center: older men, bosses, billionaires, cheating partners and rivals.
BuzzFeed's April 2026 list of spicy vertical dramas shows the pattern. In How to Break a DILF on ReelShort, an intern falls for her boss, who is also her best friend's dad. In Submitting to My Ex's Dad, also on ReelShort, a woman's one-night stand after her fiancé cheats turns out to be his father. Pucked by My Brother's Rival on DramaBox is about the one man her brother wants her to avoid (BuzzFeed).

How spicy they get
By adult standards, not very. ReelShort, DramaBox and FlickReels are phone apps sold through Apple's App Store and Google Play, and Apple's App Review Guidelines ban "overtly sexual or pornographic material" (Apple). So the heat in these series comes from the story and the tension between the leads, and the scenes stay inside those rules.
Spicy AI dramas
A newer kind of spicy short drama is made with AI video instead of actors. A Reddit thread asking for "the spiciest AI drama" ranks second on Google for spicy short dramas, which shows how many people now watch AI-made ones. Adult AI apps go further than the store apps, because they run in the browser and aren't bound by app store rules.
