Is Secrets AI Safe? Privacy, Billing and Refunds (2026)

Secrets AI is safe to use as a paying customer, with two catches. It's run by a registered company, Secret Labs Inc., it bills discreetly as "S LABS INC", you can cancel in your settings, and it deletes your chats as soon as you delete your account. We found no reported data breach. The catches are privacy and refunds: the homepage promises end-to-end encryption, but Secrets' own policies say its systems scan every message and can use your chats to train its AI, and almost nothing you buy is refundable.

We make Lovi Dream, an adult AI girlfriend app that competes with Secrets, so read this with that in mind. We read Secrets' privacy policy, terms of service, refund policy and help wiki on November 5, 2026, along with its reviews on Trustpilot and Reddit. We didn't buy a Secrets plan.

Who runs Secrets AI

Secrets AI belongs to Secret Labs Inc., which its terms describe as "a corporation registered in both Canada and the United States," with an address in Dover, Delaware. Secrets runs in your browser and has no app in the App Store or Google Play. Its install guide says any Secrets app you find in an app store isn't affiliated with it, and the App Store does list a "Secret AI: Local AI Chat" app from a different company, Secret AI L.L.C.

If you ever have a dispute with Secrets, the terms send it to individual arbitration in Vancouver under British Columbia law, and you give up the right to join a class action. You can take a claim to small-claims court instead, but only if you tell Secrets in writing within 60 days of the problem.

Can Secrets AI read your chats?

Yes. The homepage says chats are "protected with end-to-end encryption" and that "only you and your AI girl know" what you talk about. End-to-end encryption means only the two ends of a conversation can read it, and here the other end is Secrets' own AI, running on Secrets' servers. The privacy policy describes ordinary server security instead: AES-256 encryption for stored data, TLS for data on its way to the servers, and limits on which staff can open personal data.

Secrets' screening policy says automated filters check every message you send and every reply before you see it, and human moderators review flagged content. The privacy policy also lists using your data to "train and improve our AI models". Lovi Dream's privacy policy, which we wrote, says the same about training. It still means your chats sit on Secrets' servers, where its systems and some of its staff can read them.

Audio calls are handled more carefully than text. Your voice is transcribed as you talk and the recording is deleted straight away, and only the text is kept. Secrets says it doesn't sell personal information, but it shares data with service providers such as hosting and payment companies, hands it over for a valid court order or subpoena, and would pass it to a buyer if the company were sold.

What Secrets AI knows about you

You sign up with a Google or Apple account or an email address, so Secrets isn't anonymous. It also records your device type, a unique device ID, your IP address and the country it points to, and how you use the site. The free plan's 20 daily messages are tied to your device, and the wiki says making extra accounts doesn't reset them, so Secrets can tell when several accounts share one phone.

Card payments go through outside payment processors, so Secrets never stores your full card number. It keeps the last four digits, the card type and your billing address.

What shows on your bank statement

Card charges show as "S LABS INC", with no mention of Secrets or AI. Secrets takes Visa, Mastercard and Discover, and more than 300 cryptocurrencies with a $20 minimum, according to its payments guide. If neither works, Secrets sells prepaid 3-month and 12-month keys on G2A, a game-key marketplace. Keys don't renew, but G2A handles any refund, not Secrets.

Premium costs $19.99 a month or $109.99 a year, and Ultimate costs $39.99 a month or $319.99 a year. Secrets runs sales often (the site showed "50% OFF" when we checked), but a sale price only covers the first billing period, and the plan then renews at the regular price. Multi-month plans are charged upfront and renew for the same length unless you cancel.

Cancelling and refunds

To cancel, go to Settings, then Manage Subscription, or open secrets.ai/subscription, click Cancel Subscription, give a reason and confirm. Secrets' cancelling guide says you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, and then the account moves to the free plan with your chats, characters and images still there.

Refunds are rare. The refund policy, updated October 21, 2026, gives no refund for time you've already paid for, and Moments, Secrets' currency for images and videos, are final once bought. Anything paid with crypto is "non-refundable under any circumstances". The exceptions are a billing mistake you report within 30 days of the statement and, in the EU and UK, a 14-day right to withdraw from your first purchase, minus the value of what you used. Images and videos that fail after they start generating are refunded automatically, according to the payments guide.

Age checks and moderation

Secrets asks you to confirm you're 18 or older when you arrive, and its underage policy says it can ask any user for proof of age and suspends accounts that can't provide it. Its systems also watch chats for signs that a user is under 18. Any content involving minors gets the account banned and reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

What users say about Secrets AI

Secrets has 4.5 stars from 311 reviews on Trustpilot, with 74% five-star and 3% one-star reviews. Trustpilot notes that Secrets pays for a Trustpilot subscription and invites its customers to leave reviews, and almost all of the reviews were written in the last 12 months.

The top Reddit result for this search is a 4-month "research report" that rates Secrets 8.5 out of 10. Commenters said it read like an ad, and the author replied, "I do agree with the ad part." The later comments in that thread are more mixed. A Premium user of 4 months wrote that long chats lose detail over time and that group chats and custom personalities need the pricier Ultimate plan. Another said a video that came out wrong still cost Moments, and a third said their Ultimate plan showed on their laptop while their phone showed a free account, and support through Discord tickets didn't help.

We found no reported data breach at Secrets AI as of November 5, 2026. Other companion apps have leaked: in 2025, researchers found two AI girlfriend apps that left millions of private messages and more than 600,000 images and videos open to anyone online.

How to use Secrets AI more safely

• Sign up with an email address you use only for apps like this, or use Sign in with Apple and hide your email.

• Leave your real name, workplace and address out of your chats, because Secrets stores them on its servers.

• Pay by card if you might want your money back, because crypto payments are never refunded.

• Check the renewal price before you buy a sale plan.

• Delete your account in User Settings when you're done. Secrets says your chats and personal details are deleted at once, and only payment records are kept, for 7 years for tax.
