Is OurDream AI Safe? What It Does With Your Chats and Card
Is OurDream AI safe? For an adult, mostly yes. OurDream is run by a registered US company, Dream Studio USA, Inc., its privacy summary says it doesn't sell your data, and we found no record of a data breach. The catches are in OurDream's own documents. Your chats aren't as private as its homepage claims, images you make of a public character go into a pack every user can see, and refunds stop once you've used more than a quarter of what you bought.
We make Lovi Dream, a competing AI girlfriend app, so read this with that in mind. We haven't paid for OurDream. Everything below comes from OurDream's privacy policy and terms of service, both last updated August 26, 2026, its Trust & Safety site and its help center, which we read on November 4, 2026.
Is OurDream AI legit?
Yes. OurDream is run by Dream Studio USA, Inc., which operates ourdream.ai and ourdream.io as one service with one account. It publishes a privacy policy, terms of service and a separate safety site that explains its moderation rules and age checks. OurDream's homepage says it has "over 10 million dreamers and 7 million pieces of user-generated characters."
You'll see scam-checker scores for ourdream.ai in Google, and they don't tell you much. When we looked, WOT showed a 1% security score based on zero reviews. Those tools rate the domain. They don't tell you what the company does with your chats or your card, which is what the rest of this post covers.
Has OurDream AI been hacked?
We found no reported breach. Have I Been Pwned, the public database where most leaked accounts end up, lists no breach for ourdream.ai or ourdream.io as of November 4, 2026, and we found no news reports of one. That's worth checking for any app like this: in September 2024, a breach of Muah.AI, another AI girlfriend site, exposed 1.9 million email addresses together with the prompts people had written.
OurDream's privacy policy says all user data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and that its databases run on a hosting platform with a SOC 2 Type 2 certificate, which means an outside auditor has checked its security controls. Like most privacy policies, it also says OurDream "cannot guarantee the security of your information."
Who can see your OurDream chats?
OurDream's homepage answers this question with "Your chats are safe with end-to-end encryption" and "No one can read them, not even us." Its own safety site describes something different.
Other users can't read your private chats, and that includes the person who made the character you're talking to. OurDream's privacy summary says its staff only see a private chat if you give them permission while asking support for help, or if a lawful legal request requires it. But each message you send also goes to an outside AI model provider, which writes her reply. That alone rules out end-to-end encryption in the usual sense, because the AI has to read your message to answer it.
OurDream's moderation page adds that automated filters scan every chat, private ones included, to enforce its content rules. When a filter flags something or another user reports it, a human reviewer looks at it. Those reviewers are "vetted ourdream staff and trusted long-term community contributors", so a flagged chat may be read by a long-time community member rather than an employee. The same page says reviewers don't browse private chats that nothing has flagged.
Does OurDream use your chats to train its AI?
Yes, it can. OurDream's privacy policy lists using your information to "train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models", and the information it collects includes your chats. The policy doesn't describe a setting to turn this off. The privacy summary says you can object to specific uses of your data by emailing trust@ourdream.ai.
That's common for this kind of app. Lovi Dream's own privacy policy says we use conversations to train our AI too.
Who can see the images you make?
When you generate images of a public character, OurDream automatically adds them to that character's public pack, where every user can see them. OurDream removes your name from them, but the images are public. Images of private and unlisted characters stay private.
Characters you make public can also outlive your account. If a public character you created gets popular enough, the privacy policy says OurDream may keep it running after you delete your account, and it asks you not to put personal details into a public character for that reason.
One rule works in your favor. OurDream doesn't let anyone upload real photos to make characters or images, which it says is to prevent deepfakes, so nobody can turn a photo of you into OurDream porn.
Is it safe to pay OurDream?
Your card details are held by OurDream's payment processor, not by OurDream itself, according to the privacy summary. You can pay by card or crypto, and OurDream doesn't take PayPal. Premium costs $19.99 a month, or $119.88 a year charged once upfront, and both plans add 1,000 dreamcoins a month for images, video and calls. You can only buy extra dreamcoins while you have a subscription. If your card is declined, OurDream's help center points you to G2A, a third-party marketplace where other sellers offer OurDream subscription and dreamcoin codes. Dreamcoin codes from G2A only work if you already have an active subscription.
OurDream's documents don't say what the charge is called on a bank statement, and we couldn't confirm it without paying. The company behind it is Dream Studio USA, Inc.
OurDream refunds and cancelling
OurDream's refund rules are strict. Its refund article says it won't refund anything you've used more than 25% of, and a monthly plan can't be refunded once its dreamcoins are used up. Yearly plans "may be eligible for full or partial refund." To ask, go to your profile, click "Request Help" and include what you bought, the charge date and amount, and the reason. Support picks requests up within 24 to 48 hours, card refunds take 5 to 10 business days, and crypto payments can't be refunded at all.
Cancelling is simpler: on your profile, click "Cancel subscription". You keep access until the end of the period you paid for, but you don't get money back, and if you subscribe again later, the dreamcoins you had left aren't restored.
Before you cancel, download the images and videos you want to keep. When a subscription ends, OurDream blurs everything you generated until you subscribe again.
OurDream's terms also include binding arbitration and a class action waiver, which means a dispute goes to a private arbitrator instead of a court, and you can't join a group lawsuit. The terms explain how to opt out.
Does OurDream ask for ID?
Only where the law requires it. Everyone confirms they're 18 or older at sign-up. In places that require more, including the UK and Australia, OurDream sends you to an outside age-check company, Go.cam or AgeVerif, before you can use the explicit features. Depending on where you are, the check can be a face scan that estimates your age, a live selfie, a government ID or a credit card check.
OurDream's age verification page says it only gets back a pass or a fail. It never receives your ID or selfie, and it keeps the note that you passed for as long as your account exists.
How to delete your OurDream account
Go to your profile and scroll to the "danger zone" at the bottom. OurDream says deletion takes 24 to 48 hours, can't be undone, cancels any subscription and wipes your images, unpublished characters, chat history and unused dreamcoins, with no refund for the coins. For a copy of your data or any other privacy request, email trust@ourdream.ai.
How to use OurDream more safely
Sign up with an email you don't use for work or anything tied to your real name.
Keep the characters you care about private or unlisted, so your images stay out of public packs.
Leave real details about yourself out of any public character you make.
Start with the monthly plan until you know you'll keep using it, because yearly refunds are only "may be eligible".
Pay by card rather than crypto if you might want a refund.
Download your images before you cancel.
Use ourdream.ai in your browser. OurDream says it has no standalone app, so an "OurDream" APK or store app isn't from OurDream.
Where Lovi Dream fits
Lovi Dream is our app, so take this part with that in mind. On most of the points above it works the same way: you use it in your browser, there's no store app, and our privacy policy says we use conversations to train our AI. Two things are different.
